The base plate is the frame the entire tremolo is built around. Saddles bolt to it, the sustain block hangs below it, the string-lock screws thread into it, and the knife edges — the two machined contact points that let the bridge pivot — are cut directly into its top edges. This is the Floyd Rose 1000 Series replacement plate, finished in gold, part number FR1TBPG.

Knife edges are the wear point that ends most floating tremolo lifespans. When they round over — from years of pivoting against the posts, or from posts that were never quite level — the bridge stops returning to centre and no setup adjustment fixes it. The fix is a new plate. Before you order, confirm you are running a 1000 Series system: the saddle spacing, block mounting holes, and string-lock hardware on that series are cut for this plate specifically. Parts from other Floyd Rose series do not cross over, even if they look close.

The plate is hardened steel with a gold finish. Hardened steel resists the knife-edge wear that kills softer plates, and the gold finish matches the 1000 Series hardware if you are keeping the rest of the bridge in place.
